Venaseal Therapy

Reprinted from “Inside Radiology”, A Quarterly Review from Mid-South Imaging & Therapeutics, P.A., Fall 2000

Venaseal therapy is an exciting new treatment for varicose veins.  Instead of heating up the vein to make it stop flowing a small amount of biocompatible adhesive is injected to seal the vein in place.  Since no heat is used to seal the vein requirements for numbing agents or sedation is minimal.  Its use is currently covered by some insurance plans and is expected to become a mainstay therapy for varicose vein treatment.
