Spider veins are similar to varicose veins but are smaller. They are close to the skin surface and are either red or blue but look like a spider web. These usually do not cause symptoms unless they are large. But they can be a cosmetic issue.
Treatment is usually a small injection with any number of different sclerosing agents causing the vein to stop flowing and fade away. Lasers can be used in fair skinned patients
